Dr.
Moront, a native of Upstate New York,
attended Boston College for undergraduate
studies in biochemistry and economics.
While at Georgetown University School of
Medicine, he received his M.D. degree and
completed his surgical training. During his
time at Georgetown, Dr. Moront completed a
Research Fellowship with The American Heart
Association concentrating on Neonatal
Exacorporeal Membrane Oxygenation.
Dr.
Moront received his Cardiac Surgical
training, including a year of Pediatric
Cardiac Surgical training, at the University
of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr.
Moront joined The Toledo Hospital and Toledo
Children's Hospital in July of 1993 and has
been actively performing both adult and
pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery since that
time. Dr. Moront is the Director of
Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Toledo
Children's Hospital. Dr. Moront is also
Section Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at
The Toledo Hospital. His special clinical
interests include: Aortic Valve and Aortic
Arch Replacement, The Pulmonary Autograft
(Ross Procedure), Mitral Valve repair and
replacement including the use of Mitral
Valve Homografts, Transmyocardial Laser
Revascularization (TMR), and all facets of
Coronary Revascularizations.
Dr.
Moront is a Diplomate of the American Board
of Surgery and the American Board of
Thoracic Surgery.
Dr.
Moront is married and has two children.
