As a group, Cardiothoracic Surgeons for Northwest Ohio is able to provide a comprehensive scope of leading edge patient care and state of the art surgical procedures.  For the treatment of valve disease we have a special interest in valve repairs, stentless zenographs and the "Ross" procedure, a combined autograft and homograft.  We are experienced in complex reconstruction for diseases of the aortic root and thoracic aorta.  For the treatment of coronary artery disease, we offer transmyocardial laser revascularization.  We have a special interest and experience with coronary artery bypass grafting without the use of cardiopulmonary bypass.  This technique avoids the inflammatory response associated with cardiopulmonary bypass and while beneficial for all patients, is indicated in high-risk patients with limited renal, pulmonary and cerebral function.  We also utilize video-assisted endoscopic techniques for harvesting the saphenous vein.  Collectively we have performed over 5000 coronary bypass procedures or approximately 15,000 individual grafts.
